We are Hennen's Observer, a literary magazine, website, and production company that supports artists taking their first steps in the world of publishing and professionalism. Our staff of writers and journalists are at the cutting edge of traditional and new media content. We are consistently ranked in the top-rated sites for poetry and prose for new and established authors by Google Analytics, and some of our contributors have gone on to become award-winning writers in their own right.
</p><p>
We are currently searching for a college senior/recent graduate to work on a volunteer basis as an editor-in-chief managing content. Responsibilities include: editing and proofreading writer's works, helping in the selection of poetry and prose (including stints as judges in our quarterly literary contest), and managing video and web content as well as attending our monthly writer's group in Winston-Salem. A full list of tasks can be found below.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
<br>
-Work with a core team of volunteers and staffers (2-6 ideally)
<br>
-Manage selection of poetry and prose for the digital magazine as well as our accompanying blog
<br>
-Edit and proofread 5-10 stories and interviews per quarter
<br>
-Work closely with the Production Manager and in the production of video/audio/3-D content
<br>
-Attend and participate in our monthly writer's group in Winston-Salem

REQUIREMENTS
<br>
-BA/BS in Communications, Journalism or related field (course credit also acceptable)
<br>
-Experience writing/editing for an online newspaper/publication (college newspapers also count)
<br>
-Knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Microsoft Publisher or equivalent products
<br>
-Strong work ethic
<br>
-Ability to have fun working with fellow literary enthusiasts!

<p>
This position involves nominal payment with approximately 2-10 hours of work per week with an option to become a full time paid position upon completion of internship. In lieu of payment college credit is also available, if applicable.
