What our logo should communicate
That healthy schools works with the health and education sector to promote healthy schools. It is also a provincial initiative and healthy schools uses a comprehensive framework- of 4 interrelated areas to help communities create "whole" healthy schools- so its not just about healthy school food, or encouraging the kids to get out more, but its also, positive mental health, and that the environment that they go to school in also has an impact. Healthy Schools BC looks as the health of the school holistically!

Additional comments for the designers
Healthy SChools BC falls within the BC provincial strategy that aims to improve the health and well-being of all British Columbians and the communities that they live in. Healthy Families BC (HFBC) provides British Columbians with critical resources for better managing their own health and reducing the incident of chronic disease. HFBC is the Province’s health promotion plan to encourage British Columbians to make healthier choices, focusing on four main areas: Healthy Eating, Healthy Start, Healthy Communities, and Healthy Lifestyles. Healthy SChools BC initiative falls under the healthy communities area.
It is for a government organization, so nothing too flashy. The colours of BC are yellow and blue, they may want to stick with those colours, or blue to represent british columbia.
Comprehensive School Health is an internationally recognized model that addresses school health through four interrelated pillars that together, contribute to an overall healthy school. These four pillars are:
• Teaching and learning
• Social and physical environment
• Healthy School Policy
• Partnerships and Services
The new HSBC logo should help people who may not be familiar with Healthy Schools BC or Comprehensive School Health to be able to identify what Healthy Schools BC is about, or at least spark their interest to learn more.
