Pink Rose Home Support Services

CONTEST HOLDER 16

Jul 18, 2011 3:26:34 PM

Great start. I'd like the home support services to appear (smaller, like some of these). There should be no "a" before pink rose.

Jul 18, 2011 3:26:34 PM

many entries use symbols from ai. is that allowed? what is the difference between using clipart from symbols (ai) / brushes (ps)?

Hello all. After trying to fake some of these into a biz card to get a better feel for how that look I've just realized that the font for the "Home Support Services" part of the name for most of these is very small compared to the "Pink Rose", and this makes it very difficult to read when printed. Could you please make this more prominent ? Thanks.

@Barcecruz:
You can easily tie your avatar to your email address. All you need to do is go to gravatar.com and upload your avatar and use the email address that you provided here when you registered, and designtourney.com will automatically recognize it.

@Barcercuz:
You're very welcome. Your Gravatar looks good btw.

@Estweenpower: You can upload your avatar at gravatar.com and tie it to the email address you used to register for deisgntourney.

@sangeeta: great find. I will add that to my todo list. Thank you for the suggestion.

@Estweenpower: We are planning on allowing avatar updates in the near future, for those who prefer to host their avatars on our site.

Guys,
some really great stuff so far - a bit overwhelming to rate all of it ! My appologies for not giving comments and feedback. It's supposed to be possible, but either I'm lacking brain cells or it's not working.

Just a couple of comments on general style and my intended usage. This logo will be used for biz cards, leatterhead, web, and pretty much anything else that identifies the company. As such, it could appear on cheaply printed flyers as well as full-color brochures. I'm looking for something that sits well against a white or lightly colored background, and doesn't lose too much impact in black/white (ability to revert to line art and still retain the essence in a pinch would be nice). As a result of feedback from friends and family I've re-rated a bunch of these - the top rating now reflects all of the real contenders. Although any of these would be a fine representation of my company, I've extended the tournament a couple of days to allow you any last minute updates.

I just wanted to say thank you to all who participated in this tournament. As some of you may have gathered, I went into this not knowing exactly what I wanted for a logo, but hoping that I would see something I liked. I was not disappointed. In the end, it was a difficult choice to make because there were so many entries that I would have been proud to brand my company with. I know some of you put in a lot of effort, and even though you may not have taken the prize I was very impressed with quality of the designs submitted. Good Work !

A little clarification needed, do you need a LOGO or a the name with good font and a clip-art rose is OK. I'm asking this because, you have put all the great, intellectual artworks of mono color (non Gradient)logos as sample and giving stars just to opposite.

As Design Tourney is pretty young, help it grow with some real one. Best of Luck!

I think using images from the Adobe line of products should be okay. That's what they are there for...to alter, add and enhance to use in artwork.

moving avatar I use?

Dec 14, 2010 10:08:22 AM

As others have mentioned, it's unfortunate that there is so much clip art being used. Seems that in order for this to be a legitimate and professional site, that problem needs to be nipped in the bud (pardon the pun) immediately.

well mot of the entries i guess are using ready cliparts - now am left to know - is that even valid here ?

@ CH
You are looking for the logo to be printed easily on business cards and in black and white - so how may of the desings here can actualy fit that bill !!
