Additional comments for the designers
The industry I target is technologically in the stone age, but the service I offer will bring it into the 21st century. So - my logo needs to strike a balance between 'old school' and web 2.0
A CrossCut saw is a type of two handed saw used by sawyers and loggers in the old days; it requires cooperation and coordination - which I offer to my customers - sharing continuously updated, accurate information across our industry.
CrossCut is also "a shortcut by way of an area not ordinarily traversed". Our industry certainly hasn't taken this route in the past, my service is a shortcut.
