I want to put two widgets on the home page template - there is a current theme and I would like to keep it the way it is for the most part.

Where the upcoming activities and fresh off the press I want to put two widgets in it's place (a new calendar and the same blog posts). I already have those AS widgets I just need to be able to put them on the front page.
Also I'm on a tight deadline so I would like this project to be done soon.
