About Us

Helps people to buy and sell used cars. We want to create a price indicator that quickly and graphically shows the user whether the car is a good price. For example, if the car is worth $10,000 and the dealer is selling it for $8,000, this indicator would show that is it a great deal.

Target Audience

A consumer trying to buy or sell a used car. Someone who needs help in figuring out if the car is a good deal or not. Our data will decide that and we need a graphical indicator to show it.

First impressions on our design should be

We want to create the impression of a clean, modern and sophisticated design. Something new and not out in the marketplace.

We want this in our design

Visually captivating, but easy to understand at a quick glance. Ability to fit on mobile device and be very clear.

Additional comments for the designers

This is an indicator for the app users to be able to see whether the car they are looking at is a good price or not. So they can use the app to scan the barcode on the car, we will then calculate a "fair" price, the user will enter what the person is asking to sell the car for, and then the indicator will show whether it is a good deal.

Examples we like

There are many types of indicators, like and up/down arrow, a stoplight (red/yellow/green), a line chart.... all of them used as indicators, but we want something more dynamic.
Our competitors are Edmunds.com, Truecar.com, KBB.com, Cargurus.com. All of them have some sort of indicator showing the "value" of the car. We want our own for the Vinny app.
